New Albany High School Band Boosters

Marching Bulldogs

About Us

The NAHS Marching Band is known for its superior performances in the state of Indiana and in surrounding states.

The primary function of the marching band is to incorporate visual elements into the musical art. Our goal is to provide an entertaining show, while at the same time reinforcing important musical concepts and sound marching fundamentals.

Throughout it existence, the “Marching Bulldogs” have participated in hundreds of band festivals, parades, and football games.

School History

Founded in 1853, New Albany High School is one of the oldest public high schools west of the Alleghenies and the first in Indiana.

Initially known as Scribner High School, it opened in 1853 as the first high school in New Albany, Indiana. The school was operated on an irregular basis, and closed for years at a time. During part of the American Civil War, the school building was leased to the federal government, to be used as a hospital for Union soldiers. Continuous operation of a school has occurred since 1864 (though in varying locations). The final current location of the school was established in 1928.
